Classic Literature

~ Delta of Venus, Anais Nin – Nin, arguably the most famous female erotic writer of the 20th century, wrote the short stories that make up this anthology for a “collector” who commissioned her to produce graphic, erotic content which she coloured with her distinctly feminine viewpoint.
~ Lolita, Vladimir Nabokov – A classic and one of the most discussed books of 20th century literature, Lolita is famous for its innovative writing style and infamous for its controversial subject—narrator/protagonist Humbert Humbert’s obsession and sexual involvement with a 12-year-old girl.
~ Lady Chatterley’s Lover, D.H. Lawrence – A scandalous book when it was first published in 1928 for its inclusion of previously banned four-letter words, explicit sex scenes and violation of class boundaries, Lady Chatterley’s Lover is the erotic tale of an aristocratic English woman and her working class lover.
~ The Lover, Marguerite Duras – Autobiographical tale of a young white girl and her affair with an elder Chinese businessman, against the backdrop of French colonial Vietnam.
